Primary Applications

1. Pharmaceutical Industry (Excipient)

This is the most common use for the 98% extrapure grade. It serves as a diluent or filler in the manufacture of tablets and capsules.

• Compressibility: It has excellent flow properties and compressibility, helping tablets maintain their shape.

• Abrasiveness: It is slightly abrasive, which can sometimes be utilized in specialized cleaning or polishing formulations.

2. Food & Nutritional Supplementation

• Mineral Supplement: It is a major source of both Calcium and Phosphorus, used to fortify cereals, flour, and dietary supplements.

• Conditioning Agent: In the food industry, it acts as an anti-caking agent or a dough conditioner.

3. Dental Care

• Polishing Agent: Due to its mild abrasive nature, it is used in toothpastes to help remove plaque and stains without damaging tooth enamel.

• Tartar Control: It helps in the remineralization of teeth.

4. Laboratory & Industrial Use

• Buffer Component: Used in the preparation of biological buffers and in the glass industry as an opacifying agent.

• Fertilizer Research: Used as a reference material for studying phosphorus uptake in plants.
