Applications :

1. Water and Sewage Treatment:

Flocculant:
Calcium hydroxide is used to remove impurities from water by causing small particles to clump together (flocculate) and settle out.
pH Adjustment:
It can neutralize acidic water and wastewater, raising the pH to a suitable level for discharge or further treatment.
Precipitative Softening:
Calcium hydroxide reacts with dissolved calcium and magnesium ions in water, forming precipitates that can be removed, thus softening the water.
Desulfurization:
It can be used to remove sulfur dioxide from flue gases in industrial processes.
